Create a file copy

In Motiff, the location where a file copy is created depends on the location of the file and users’ access permissions for the project to which the file belongs:

  • If you have Can edit or higher access permissions for the project, the copy will be created within the project.
  • If you have Can view permissions or no permissions for the project, the copy will be created in Drafts.

The created file copy will not include the access permissions, comments, version history, or library connections of the original file.

Create a copy

You can create copies in the workspace and within files.

Create a copy in the workspace

  1. 1.Select a file from the file list.
  2. 2.Right-click the selected file to open the file menu.
  3. 3.In the menu, select Duplicate.
  4. 4.Motiff will add the suffix -copy to the name of the copied file to distinguish it from the original file.
