In Motiff, once a file is deleted, it will be removed from all collaborators. Therefore, we recommend deleting a file only after confirming that all collaborators no longer need to use this file.
After deleting a file, you can view, restore, and permanently delete the file in Trash at the bottom of the sidebar. Motiff stores deleted files indefinitely until they are permanently deleted by you or other collaborators.
If you have Can edit or higher permissions for the file and its project, you can delete the file from the workspace or within the file itself.
There are two ways to delete a file from the workspace:
If you want to delete multiple files at the same time, you can select multiple files and then delete them in the following ways:
You can view, restore, and permanently delete files in the Trash.
Anyone can create a copy of a file from the Trash. The created copy will go into personal drafts, while the original file remains in the Trash, available for other collaborators to copy, restore, or permanently delete.
Creating a copy does not include the original file's permissions, comments, version history, or library connections.
People with Can edit permissions for the file and its project can restore the file. Restoring the file will retain the original file's permissions, comments, version history, and library connections.
Note: If the original project no longer exists, the file will be restored to your drafts, but other collaborators will no longer be able to see the file.
Note: According to Motiff's data deletion standard procedures and relevant legal requirements, Motiff may temporarily retain data after a file is permanently deleted.
People with Can edit permissions for the file and the original project can permanently delete the file. This action will permanently remove the file from all collaborators and cannot be undone.
