Add links to text

Motiff supports adding links to text. Click on the link to access specified content.

You can use it to:

  • Guide collaborators to external sites, such as documentation and project management tools.
  • Create a directory or navigation in large Motiff files to specific pages or frames.
  • Link text content to other Motiff files.
  • Represent actual links that exist in the design interface.

Links can be added to an entire text layer or specific parts of the text within a text layer.

  1. 1.

Select the text layer or text you want to add a link to.

  2. 2.

Click '24_Toolbar_Link.svg' in the toolbar or use the shortcut keys:

    • macOS: ⌘ Command + K
    • Windows: Ctrl + K
  3. 3.

Enter or paste the URL in the expanded input box.

  4. 4.

Press Enter to apply the link.

You can also add a link to selected text content through the paste function:

  2. 2.Select the text layer or text you want to add a link to.
  3. 3.Use the shortcut keys to add the link:
    • macOS: ⌘ Command + V
    • Windows: Ctrl + V

Hovering the cursor over text with a link will show link details and an edit button.

Clicking on text with a link will jump to the specified content.

The specific jump effect depends on the type of link:

  • Motiff files: Open the linked file in a new tab.
  • Pages, frames, or comments within the current file: Motiff takes you to the page or frame in the current file.
  • External websites: Open the external website in a new tab of the browser.

Tip: If you want to prevent a link from opening when clicking it, double click or select the text in the box.

Tip: You can copy links to Motiff files, pages, frames, groups, and comments. You will be directly positioned to the corresponding content when you visit the links. Learn more about Link sharing.
