Move from draft to project | Have Can edit permission of the target project |
Move files between different projects | Have Can edit permission of both the target and current projects |
Motiff supports moving files between different projects, but moving files may change who has access to the files:
- For members who obtained permissions through individual invitations, their permissions will be retained.
- When project permissions are reconfigured, members of the newly assigned project will have the relevant access rights, while those from the original project may losee their access.
Move files
If you have Can edit or higher permissions for the file and its belonging project, you can move the file within the workspace or within the file itself.
Move files in the workspace
There are two ways to move files in the workspace:
- Right-click on the file to open the file menu, select Move…, and choose the target project in the popup to complete the move.
- Drag and drop the selected file onto the target project in the sidebar.
Tip: When dragging and dropping files, you need to pin the target project to the sidebar first. Click next to the project name to pin it.
Tip: If you want to move multiple files at the same time, you can select multiple files in the following ways before moving:
- Drag the cursor in the file list to select files.
- Hold Shift and click on multiple files.
- Hold ⌘ Command / Ctrl and click on multiple files.

- 4.Choose the target project in the move file popup to complete the move.
