Slice is a tool that allows you to set the export range. Unlike adding export options directly to the layer, you can customize an export range that is unaffected by the size of other layers within the export range when exporting through the Slice tool.
Select the Slice tool by using the shortcut key S or clicking in the dropdown menu of the toolbar. Then, click and drag the canvas to create a slice layer.
Tip: To minimize the impact of sliced layers on drawing and editing, clicking the canvas directly and selecting slices is not supported. If you want to select a slice, you can select it on the canvas or click on the slice layer in the layer list.
You can control whether slices are displayed on the canvas through the Show slices option in the Main menu - View - Show slices. Slices are displayed as a gray dashed line frame by default.
The method of exporting slice layers is the same as ordinary layers. Learn more about How to export.
The export range of a slice layer includes the content within its boundary (dashed box). This applies to scenarios where only a part of a layer needs to be exported.
