Motiff desktop app

The Motiff desktop app can open the workspace and files in Motiff, which gives you access to the same features as opening Motiff in a browser.

Compared with using Motiff in a browser, the desktop app has the following differences:

  • The desktop app can access fonts on the device without the need to install font plugins.
  • The desktop app operates on a Chrome base, which eliminates concerns about browser compatibility issues.

Check your system requirements

The Motiff desktop app has the following operating system requirements:

  • macOS：
    • Supports macOS 11 (macOS Big Sur) and later versions.
    • Supports Inter and Apple Silicon processors.
  • Windows：
    • Supports Win 10 and later versions.
    • Supports a 64-bit environment.

Tip: You can check your system version using the following steps:

  • macOS:

    1. a.Click '路径 1.svg' in the top left corner.
    2. b.Select About This Mac.

  • Windows:

    1. a.Click Start.
    2. b.Open Settings.
    3. c.Click System and then select About.

Download

You can select Get desktop app in the workspace by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner.

Tip: Motiff will download the desktop app to the default location you have configured for the browser.

Updates

When a new version of Motiff is available, an update prompt is displayed. You can choose to update immediately or update automatically the next time you restart the application.

Log in to Motiff

Motiff desktop app supports getting the login status from the browser.

Open workspace and files

Opening a workspace or file will open a tab in the navigation bar of the desktop app. You can distinguish between different types of tabs based on their icons.

If a file name starts with an emoji, the tab icon will display that emoji at the beginning instead of the default icon.

Manage tabs

Similar to managing browser tabs, you can perform the following actions on tabs:

  • Create a new tab

    • Click '16_Common_Add.svg' next to all tabs to create a new tab.

  • Rearrange the order of tabs.

  • Close tabs.

    • Click '16_Common_Close.svg' next to each tab to close it.
    • Right-click on a tab to select Close Tab, Close Other Tabs, or Close All Tabs.

  • Reopen recently closed tabs.

    • Click '16_Panel_More.svg' in the top right corner of the window to show recently closed tabs.
    • Click on the corresponding tab to reopen it.
