Create bulleted and numbered lists

Motiff supports both numbered and bulleted lists. They allow you to organize and emphasize important information in your flies through lists.

Motiff currently supports up to five levels of indentation.

Bulleted lists

You can use bulleted lists to organize non-sequential sets of information. The style of Motiff's bulleted lists is the same at each indentation level. You cannot customize the style of bulleted lists.

Create bulleted lists

  1. 1.Click '16_Layer_Type.svg' in the toolbar, or press T .
  2. 2.Enter text-editing mode, and create a bulleted list:
    • Type - or * ,then press Space .
    • Click '16_Panel_More.svg' in the Text modal of the Design panel and select '16_Panel_List.svg' from List style.

Tip: You can add bulleted lists to single or multiple text layers using ⌘ Command + ⇧ Shift + 8 .

Numbered lists

You can use numbered lists to organize sequential sets of information. Motiff's numbered lists use numerical numbering to differentiate between levels, and the numbered list counters will alternate between numbers, letters, and Roman numerals.

Create numbered lists

  1. 1.Click '16_Layer_Type.svg' in the toolbar, or press T .
  2. 2.Enter text-editing mode, and create a numbered list:
    • Type the characters 1. or 1) , then press Space .
    • Click '16_Panel_More.svg' in the Text modal of the Design panel and select '16_Panel_NumberedList.svg' from List style.

Tip: You can add numbered lists to single or multiple texts using ⌘ Command + ⇧ Shift + 7.

Format list items

In Motiff, using - + Space or 1. + Space keyboard shortcuts will activate automatic list styling.

Using ⌘ Command + Z immediately after a list shortcut removes the default styling.

Indentation

Motiff's numbered and bulleted lists currently support five levels of indentation. To change the list's indentation, you can:

Increase/decrease indentation

You can increase the indentation by pressing Tab , and pressing Tab again to increase it further. Conversely, you can use Shift + Tab to decrease the indentation.

Tip: You can also use shortcuts for indentation:

  • Increase indentation: ⌘ Command + ] / Ctrl + ]
  • Decrease indentation: ⌘ Command + [ / Ctrl + [

Cancel lists

  • Use Delete / Backspace at the beginning of a list to remove the list numbering.
  • Use Return / Enter after an empty list to cancel the list.

List style

Text colors

  • The color of the list bullet points will match the text color of the first line of the list.
  • Within the same level of indentation, the color of the bullet points will remain consistent.

Stroke

  • The stroke property will apply to the entire selected text layer.
  • Changes to the weight of your text will apply to the associated bullet points.

Effects

  • Effects will be applied to the entire selected text layer.

Tip: In text settings, select - , and the list style of the selected text layer will be removed.
