Text is an important part of interface design. The use of text affects the efficiency of information conveyance. The placement of text, layout, and even font choices play significant roles in the design process.
Motiff employs its own custom text rendering to ensure that design content appears consistent across different systems and platforms.
You can create new text layers using the text tool in the following two ways:
After selecting the Text tool, you can create text layers on the canvas. There are two ways to create text layers with different response types.
Text layers created in this way will have the response type set to Auto width, which dynamically adjusts the width of the text box as you type.
Text layers created in this way will have the response type set to Fixed size. When you enter longer text content, it will automatically wrap according to the width you set.
Tip: You can adjust the response type of the text through the text module in the design panel.
You can select a single text layer or multiple text layers.
Click on the text layer in the canvas or the layers panel to select a single layer.
You need to enter text editing mode to modify text content. You can enter the text editing mode in the following two ways:
Tip: After entering text editing mode, you can click on any other text layer on the canvas to edit its content.
You can add emoji symbols to text layers. Motiff uses Apple's emoji styles.
You can use the emoji picker to add emojis to text layers.
To add emojis, you need to activate Microsoft's Touch Keyboard first:
You can use the touch keyboard to add emojis.
You can adjust the size of text layers in several ways.
Each text layer is surrounded by a blue bounding box, which controls the layer's position on the canvas and how the text is arranged.
You can adjust the horizontal and vertical alignment of text within the bounding box in the text module of the design panel.
To change the size of a text layer, drag the bounding box to adjust its size:
You can adjust the size of the text by changing the font size or by using the Scale tool. This tool is more convenient when you need to adjust the size of a group of text content.
Note: Scaling text layers may result in fractional font sizes, so Motiff recommends changing the size of text layers by adjusting the font size.
