What browsers do Motiff support?

As a browser-based software, Motiff is compatible with all full desktop operating systems (e.g. macOS, Windows).

Motiff also has desktop applications for macOS and Windows (Can be downloaded by clicking on avatar and selecting Get desktop app in the Motiff workspace).

For live previewing of the design content on mobile, you can download the Motiff mobile app (Search for Motiff in app stores), which is available for iOS and Android devices.

Note: Having problems using Motiff in a browser? Try to update your browser to the latest version. Enabling automatic updates is recommended.

Browsers and operating systems

Motiff uses WebGL (Web Graphics Library) for rendering. WebGL has very low requirements for graphics cards, which means Motiff runs well in most browsers.

Motiff's browser requirements are as follows:

Chrome 87 or higher.
Firefox 80 or higher.
Safari 14.1 or higher.
Microsoft Edge 88 or higher.

Note: To use Motiff on Microsoft Edge, you need to make sure the Strict mode privacy setting is disabled for motiff.com . For more information, see Microsoft's help center.

Motiff's operating system requirements are as follows:

Windows 10 or higher.
macOS 11 or higher.

Graphics cards

On Windows, updating the operating system and device drivers is required to maintain optimal performance. On macOS, any new release of the operating system will automatically update the Safari browser and fix WebGL-related issues.

While Motiff does not restrict the use of specific graphics cards, some browsers may prevent you from using Motiff. Please refer to the above browser and operating system requirements as guides.

Integrated and dedicated graphics cards

Some new laptops have both a dedicated graphics card (Nvidia or AMD) and an integrated graphics card (Intel or AMD).

If you have a dual-GPU laptop, you can choose to use the dedicated GPU instead of the integrated GPU. This will improve Motiff's performance but will increase your battery consumption.

Motiff cannot provide support or troubleshooting for dedicated GPU. If you need help with a dedicated GPU, we recommend the following resources:

macOS: Apple provides the following information about using a dedicated GPU.
- Find out which graphics processor is in use on your MacBook Pro.
- Set graphics performance on MacBook Pro (Disable automatic switching).
Windows (Nvidia): Set chrome.exe to use the dedicated graphics card in the Nvidia control panel.
Windows (AMD): Set chrome.exe to use the dedicated graphics card in the AMD control panel.

Unsupported graphics cards

The following GPU has known bugs and may cause rendering failures when using Motiff. The performance of these GPUs may vary from browser to browser:

Mobile requirements

Motiff supports opening and viewing files in a mobile browser but does not support editing files.

Motiff's mobile system and browser requirements are as follows:

Android: Browser on devices with Android 10 or higher.
