ANGLE (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine) is a graphics processing engine in macOS used for managing graphics rendering of applications.
Currently, the system supports two graphics backend options:
To ensure long-term stability and performance of the applications, Motiff recommends switching to the Metal backend. This choice aligns with the technological development of the Apple ecosystem and improves the performance and stability of the applications.
Note: In macOS, Motiff may experience operational lag when the browser's ANGLE graphics backend is not configured as Metal.
To improve performance, Motiff will notify you when it detects this issue by showing a tooltip at the bottom of the editor and guiding you to switch the backend configuration.
Open the Chrome browser and go to chrome://flags/
for settings.
Type in Metal
in the search bar.
Change the setting to Metal or Default.
Tip: Selecting Default will allow the system to automatically choose the optimal graphics backend, which is usually Metal on macOS.
Click Relaunch at the bottom of the page to restart the browser.
