AI Design System Maintainer

After a design system is created, constant maintenance is necessary to meet more design needs. However, maintaining a design system is time-consuming, leading to significant challenges in using design systems.

AI Design System Maintainer reduces the time needed for maintenance by automatically extracting new styles and components from your latest design files.

Use AI Design System Maintenance

  1. 1.Open the design system file, click '24_Toolbar_AIseacted.svg' and select AI Design System Maintainer. 'AI Design System Maintainer.png'
  2. 2.Select one or multiple design files in the popup. AI will extract new styles and components that are not included in the current design system. 'Select.png'

Note: AI only extracts design elements in the desktop or mobile interface. Please make sure that the top-level frame of the interface in the design is a common desktop or mobile size.

Tip: Motiff will include all interfaces in the file for recognition. To avoid recognizing unintended content, you can organize your design files before starting the recognition process.

Configure preferences

You can click on Preference to customize the configuration for easy adaptation to your team usage. Motiff supports the following two preferences: 'Configure preferences .png'

  • When too many new styles are discovered, hide the less frequently used ones: When too many new styles are recognized, AI Design System Maintainer will return only the top 20% of the most-used styles.
  • Ignore cases when only row height differs from current styles: When a newly added text property differs from the design system only in line height, this text property will be skipped.

AI maintenance results

After the maintenance, a new page named AI maintenance results will be added to the current file. This page will display newly discovered styles and components.

You can compare the newly discovered styles and components with similar elements in the current design system. Motiff supports viewing the usage frequency and usage scenario of the recognized results to help you determine if they should be maintained in the design system. 'AI maintenance results.jpg'

Tip: After creating new styles and components, you can use AI replaces components feature to replace design elements from prior design files with your newly created styles or components.
